Join us for a reading by writer Joseph Earl Thomas, hosted by Creative Writing instructor Lise Funderburg. Thomas is a doctoral candidate in English at Penn. His award-winning debut memoir, Sink, is a wrenching and redemptive coming-of-age memoir, set in Philly, about the difficulty of growing up in a hazardous home and the glory of finding salvation in geek culture. Sink was listed as one of the New York Times's 100 Notable Books of 2023, BET'S Favorite Memoirs of 2023, and Electric Literature's Favorite Books of 2023.
